Ecovacs T30S Omni vs X9 Pro Omni: Which Ecovacs to Buy?

Cleaning Performance

Both robots carry the Ecovacs name, but the cleaning gap is real. The X9 Pro Omni operates at 16,600Pa compared to the T30S Omni’s 10,000Pa — a 66% suction advantage. More tellingly, Vacuum Wars measured the X9 Pro’s sealed suction at 2.76 kPa, the highest recorded among 2025 flagships. That sealed suction metric reflects how effectively a robot maintains airflow through thick carpet pile, and the X9 Pro excels there.

The T30S Omni is a competent cleaner on hard floors and low-to-medium carpet. It’s not weak — after a long run on the market it’s a thoroughly known quantity, and it still earns its keep on everyday debris. But side-by-side with the X9 Pro, the suction difference shows in embedded debris pickup, particularly on medium and thick pile carpets.

The X9 Pro also tested at a 93% pet hair pickup rate — top tier for pet households. The T30S Omni hasn’t been tested as comprehensively, but its lower suction suggests it would rate below that benchmark on carpet.

Winner: Ecovacs X9 Pro Omni — Higher suction, measured best-in-class sealed suction, and documented pet hair performance.

Navigation & Obstacle Avoidance

The X9 Pro Omni uses dToF LiDAR with an RGBD sensor and TruEdge 3D Detection — a more sophisticated sensor suite than the T30S Omni’s AIVI 3.0 camera setup. In practice, TruEdge gives the X9 Pro better understanding of floor-edge transitions and low-profile obstacles.

The T30S Omni’s AIVI 3.0 recognizes 22 obstacle types reliably, including pet waste — this was impressive at launch and remains functional today. But the X9 Pro’s 3D sensor fusion provides more accurate depth mapping, particularly around table legs, cables, and thin objects lying flat on the floor.

For everyday navigation and room mapping, both are reliable. The X9 Pro’s obstacle avoidance just handles edge cases with more consistency.

Mopping

This is where the X9 Pro Omni is in a completely different tier. The OZMO Roller — a spinning roller mop at 220 RPM with 3,700Pa pressure — self-washes instantly during cleaning by briefly returning to the dock mid-run. This means it’s never spreading dirty water around; it’s constantly working with a clean mop surface. Vacuum Wars awarded it the highest mopping score it has ever recorded: 4.95 out of 5.

The T30S Omni’s OZMO Pro 2.0 dual vibrating pads scrub decently but redistribute some soiling as they work. They need to complete a cycle before dock washing cleans them. For hard floors with dried-on messes or grout lines, the gap between the roller and flat pads is stark.

Dock & Maintenance

Both robots share the OMNI station framework: auto-empty (60 days on the T30S Omni, 150 days on the X9 Pro), hot water mop wash, hot-air dry, and auto water refill. The X9 Pro’s dock washes mops with hot water and also dry-cleans the roller between cycles. The X9 Pro’s 150-day self-empty interval versus the T30S Omni’s 60 days is a meaningful maintenance advantage for less-attentive households — in practice it’s the difference between swapping bags roughly twice a year and doing it every two months. Small friction, but it’s exactly the kind that decides whether a robot stays genuinely hands-off.

The X9 Pro’s dock is notably larger and louder during its drying cycle (approximately 72 dB, which reviewers flagged). The T30S Omni’s dock is quieter and more compact.

Smart Features & App

Both use the ECOVACS Home app, which means identical interface and features: multi-floor mapping, per-room settings, zone cleaning, scheduling, and voice control. Value & Price

The T30S Omni typically sells around $599, the X9 Pro Omni around $1,399 — a $800 gap. Within the Ecovacs lineup, the T30S Omni brought OMNI dock automation to a mainstream price point. That was a big deal, though Ecovacs has since bracketed it from below as well: the N30 Omni puts a full OMNI dock under $300, so dock automation alone no longer justifies the T30S. What it still buys over the budget tier is hot-water mop washing and the AIVI camera. The X9 Pro delivers substantially better cleaning, mopping, and suction for the premium.

If mopping quality is your priority, the X9 Pro’s OZMO Roller is categorically different from what any flat-pad robot (including the T30S Omni) offers.
